Arts for Brain Health: Social Prescribing as Peri-Diagnostic Practice for Dementia

The aim of the Arts 4 Dementia Best Practice Conference 2021 is for referral to social prescribing to re-energising arts and wellbeing activities to become natural diagnostic practice at the onset of dementia symptoms. Re-energising weekly activity empowers individuals and their partners to preserve their brain health and override strain in the lonely fear-filled months leading to diagnosis and beyond.

As arts venues open their doors and present ever more imaginative culture and creativity, poetry and drama, dance, music and movement, in and around nature, on Zoom, even as challenges occur in the brain, there is much to expand the mind.
