Discover Georgian Fashion at Buckingham Palace

June 6, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Arts 4 Dementia and The Royal Collection are delighted to offer a 6-week (June 6 – July 11) exhibition tour and textiles workshop at The Queen’s Gallery this summer.

This workshop programme is for people experiencing early-stage dementia, mild cognitive impairment or memory challenges and their companions.

Marvel at the brand-new Style & Society: Georgian Fashion Exhibition! During the sessions Catherine, one of the Gallery’s brilliant guides will be taking you through the collection, focusing on a different theme each week from undergarments and accessories to materials and fabrics.

At the end of the tour, you will take part in a practical workshop in the gallery with the brilliant textile Artist, Alice Burnhope. Taking inspiration from the paintings and objects you have been introduced to, you will create your own Georgian-inspired artworks. Learn how to stitch, appliqué and collage with a variety of materials in the gallery space.

Please note the programme is FREE of charge and all materials, and light refreshments will be provided.

Numbers are restricted, so if you are interested please register as soon as possible – only those who expect to be able to attend all 6 sessions, from June 6 – July 11, can be accommodated.

Reasons to join:

  • Enjoy weekly creativity
  • Make new social connections
  • Develop and learn new skills
  • Combat memory worries
