How can we meet the needs of people living alone with dementia?
November 6 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

This workshop is for people living alone with dementia and without any informal support, and for practitioners, providers and commissioners.
This event has limited places and the organisers need to ensure a balance between different groups of attendees; signing up is an expression of interest and you will be contacted to confirm whether you have a place.
People living with dementia, who have no informal support from families and friends, often go under the radar. They are more at risk of not having their needs met, and hitting a crisis where they may end up in hospital or in a care home.
This research, involving advisors with lived experience, has explored how to identify people who don’t have anyone to support them, and how to help them plan ahead and access the support they need.
During the workshop the findings from this research will be shared, the workshop also aims to co-design resources based on the research. These will be for people living with dementia, for providers, for practitioners, and for commissioners.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
If you are a person with lived experience, please email Jenni Brooks at j.brooks@shu.ac.uk to arrange support to attend.
If you need financial support with travel costs to attend, please email Jenni Brooks at j.brooks@shu.ac.uk, as there are some financial awards available.
