DCAN will be running a joint session alongside Innovations in Dementia and members of the DEEP Network, at the Social Care Future online conference from 4th-6th November.
#socialcarefuture is a growing movement of people with a shared commitment to bring about major positive change in what is currently called “social care.” It’s for those who want to take part in imagining, communicating and creating together a future where what we currently call social care makes a major contribution to everyone’s wellbeing and which, as a result, will enjoy high levels of public – and hence political – support.
Social Care Future’s vision is, “We all want to live in the place we call home with the people and things we love, in communities where we look out for one another, doing things that matter to us”.
During this session, we will be testing the vision and asking people with dementia what they think and what needs to happen to make a better vision a reality. The session will be run with Dr Wendy Mitchell, Chris Maddocks, Keith Oliver, Philly Hare and Ian McCreath.
