Over the past two years Thank You events have seen 15 million people involved in community events – saying thank you for their community, and taking the opportunity to make new local connections.
This year’s Thank You Day aims to bring the nation together to show their appreciation of the UK’s unsung heroes through the gift of music to family, friends, neighbours, colleagues and, particularly, carers.
Thank You Day 2023 has a special focus on carers, an opportunity to say a big thank you to those in the community dedicating their time to caring for someone.
Grace Meadows, Campaign Director for Music for Dementia, said: “The Music for Dementia campaign is delighted to be partnering with the /together coalition this year to highlight the role music can play in caring for someone, particularly those living with dementia. We would encourage everyone to get involved musically with Thank You Day and show that you appreciate the role carers play.”
If you would like to get involved, here’s what you can do:
- Save the Date – Sunday 2nd July
- Plan a music event on Thank You Day
- Attend a local Thank You Day music event – check Music for Dementia for updates
- Share a song with someone to say a big thank you
- Play, sing or listen to music together
