At a glance

Arts 4 Dementia is an organisation aiming to transform the lives of people living with dementia, and those who care for them, through the joy of art. They have recently launched three more series of in-person workshops, read on to learn more…

Designed for people with early-stage dementia or mild cognitive impairment, these free workshops cover a range of art activities and require no previous experience.

Art at the Treehouse kicks off a 10-week programme of creative mixed media on 16th May. Workshops take place at the Treehouse in Elephant Park, Southwark, and each session will focus on a different art activity inspired by nature.

Now in its second term, the 8-week  Art of craft  starting on 2nd June gives participants the opportunity to try out a range of crafts including hat making, bronze casting and natural textile dyeing. Those taking part in this workshop will have the chance to learn new techniques from skilled makers at the Cockpit Studios.

If you prefer textiles and fashion, then Discover Georgian Fashion at Buckingham Palace might be for you. This 6-week programme, starting on 6th June, includes a combination of tours through the exhibition collection and practical workshops in the gallery – giving participants the opportunity to create their own Georgian-inspired artworks.

Numbers for all of the workshop programmes are limited, so contact Arts 4 Dementia to register in advance if you or someone you know might be interested.
