Delirium is a sudden change in mental state, which may be confusion, agitation, personality change, and difficulties with understanding and memory. It is also referred to as acute confusion.
This new leaflet, Think Delirium, has recently been published. It is aimed at families, friends, and unpaid carers, with an aim to help carers identify delirium and know how to support someone with delirium.
The leaflet also includes information about a 45 minute online learning course which provides the baseline knowledge and skills required by all staff working in health and social care settings and also for those working in an individual’s own home. It is also aimed at carers of people who may be more at risk of developing delirium.
