Too Young For Dementia is a new network launched to provide peer support for young adult carers of people with dementia.

Too Young For Dementia TYFD is a new network launched to provide peer support for young adult carers of people with dementia.

This network is brand new and has been specifically set up for young adults 18 – 35, who support / care for a parent with young onset dementia with one simple aim: Connect young adults who support their parents with young onset dementia, create new friendships and enable us to to learn from and support each other.

Over the last few years I’ve been fortunate to connect with a number of people of similar age to myself (mid twenties to mid thirties) and our stories have all been incredibly (and often frighteningly!) similar. I’ve come to learn how sometimes the needs, support and conversations needed for the adult children of those with young onset dementia, are quite specific.

With that in mind, I’d like to create a network of like-minded people to share stories and support each other, even if its just a coffee or drinking buddy occasionally 🍷 This would become the Too Young For Dementia Network (TYFD for short).
