The World Health Organization has launched a new platform to facilitate information and knowledge exchange on dementia.

The Global Dementia Observatory Knowledge Exchange Platform shares key resources to support the implementation of the Global action plan on the public health response to dementia 2017-2025 and its seven action areas.

This new tool provides a space for stakeholders to share resources (e.g. policies, guidelines, case studies and examples of good practice) in order to facilitate mutual learning and promote the exchange of knowledge in the area of dementia.

Resources are categorised by the strategic action areas of the global dementia action plan, users can then narrow down their search selecting one of the filter options (country, language, resource type etc.). Users of the platform are also invited to leave comments and rate resources to further enhance discussion about ways to promote and strengthen dementia practice.

Anyone can submit resources to the platform, this can be done via the GDO resource submission form.  Submissions undergo a comprehensive review process, including a panel of experts in the field of dementia, a Focus Group of people with lived experience of dementia and the WHO Secretariat, to ensure that selected resources meet quality and good practice criteria.
