Projects
Lived experience into strategy
We are working to gather insight on the current lived experience, aspirations and ideas of people living with dementia, and their families and friends.
These contributions will help to shape DCAN’s strategy and actions, and in turn how we influence national and local government, the NHS and other key bodies to make change.
Objectives
- To hold conversations with people with dementia, their families, and carers, to understand people’s experience, and to influence the future strategic direction of dementia care and support in England.
Activity
- Working with an oversight group to direct the project which includes people living with dementia, and professionals working in dementia care, support and policy development.
- Facilitation of conversations across the country, capturing people’s thoughts and experiences.
- Host online and in-person conversations with people with dementia and their families to understand people’s experiences, aspirations and ideas, and co-create policy recommendations.
Outputs
We will share an overview of the insights gathered and recommendations going forward in a downloadable report.
Get involved
- We will also be hosting conversations online and in person – if you would like to get involved in these please contact us.
